While travel insurance is not a requirement for our tours, we strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive insurance policy cover before your trip to Ireland.

Your policy should cover all medical costs associated with travel.

Visa requirements for the Republic of Ireland vary by nationality. While many visitors, including those from Europe, North America, Australia, and parts of Africa, typically do not require a visa for short tourist visits, this is not universal.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please check the official Irish Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) website directly: www.irishimmigration.ie. We strongly recommend checking these requirements well in advance of your trip.

Ireland’s climate is famously unpredictable, often celebrated for its “four seasons in one day” charm! This variability is part of our unique landscape. To stay comfortable, we highly recommend packing a high-quality waterproof jacket and dressing in light layers of clothing. This approach will allow you to easily adapt to our ever-changing, yet picturesque, conditions throughout your tour.

Absolutely! Ireland is renowned for being a welcoming and friendly destination. The Irish people are globally recognised for their warmth and hospitality, ensuring travellers generally feel very welcome. Our society is considered socially progressive, and serious crime is rare. In fact, Ireland consistently ranks highly on global peace indices, reflecting its status as one of the most peaceful countries in the world.

Anytime is a good time to visit Ireland!

At Farm Tours Ireland, we’re committed to making our tours as accessible as possible for all our guests.

Our tours often visit genuine, working farms that aren’t typically built with universal accessibility for people with mobility issues in mind. This means paths may be uneven, surfaces might be muddy, and there could be steps or narrow doorways in older farm buildings.

However, we want to be as accommodating as possible. If you or a member of your group uses a wheelchair or other mobility aids, prior notice is essential. Please reach out to us on your preferred contact channel with your specific needs when booking. This allows us to assess the accessibility of the planned farm visits and cultural sites for your chosen itinerary, and where possible, make necessary accommodations or suggest alternative, more suitable tour options to ensure you can fully enjoy your experience with us.

We don’t book flights for our guests. You’ll need to arrange your own air travel to and from Ireland.

Unless you’re travelling to Ireland from the UK, you will need an electrical plug adapter to use your devices and/or appliances here.

Luckily, power adapters are inexpensive and readily available in Ireland.

To make the most of your farm tour experience, we recommend dressing comfortably and practically, keeping Ireland’s variable weather in mind.

Here’s what we generally advise:

  • Layer Up: Regardless of the season, it’s always wise to wear warm clothing that you can layer. Even on a mild day, conditions on an open farm can change, and you’ll be spending time outdoors.
  • Comfortable Footwear for Walking: You’ll be doing a fair amount of walking on uneven ground, so comfortable, sturdy shoes are essential.
  • Be Rain-Ready: Ireland is known for its green landscapes, which means occasional rain. Please bring clothing that is rain-resistant, such as a waterproof jacket and trousers, as parts of our tours will involve being outside.
  • Footwear & Farm Conditions: We will provide shoe covers for guests to use during farm visits. However, it’s important to note that these covers are not 100% waterproof. Therefore, we recommend wearing footwear that you don’t mind getting a little dirty or potentially damp.
  • Wellington Boots: While not strictly necessary, Wellington boots (rain boots) can be particularly useful if the weather leading up to or on your tour day is exceptionally wet, ensuring your feet stay completely dry. If you have space in your luggage and prefer maximum dryness, they can be a worthwhile addition.

There are two currencies used on the island of Ireland. Which one you need, depends on which part of Ireland you’re visiting.

You’ll use Euro (€) while visiting the Republic of Ireland. Northern Ireland’s currency is the Pound sterling (£).

The industry standard in Ireland is €15 per person, per day. But this is, of course, at your discretion.

Our team of Farm Tours Ireland guides and host farmers really appreciate any tips that come their way after leading a tour or hosting a group.
