On arrival in Ireland you will be greeted by a Farm Tours Ireland friendly guide. Interpreters are available on request to cater for your particular needs and ensure you enjoy your time in Ireland.
Ireland is renowned for the quality of its beef and its beef production systems. During your visit all aspects of this industry will be seen and discussed.
On arrival we will travel to the north east of the country to visit a beef breeding farm. Meet with the farmer and discuss his production system and how he targets the market with the animals he produces. Stay in one of the local hotels. Experts can be arranged to inform you about sheep farming in the area. Dine at the hotel and sample some of the excellent beef from the locality.
Visit a local traditional butcher’s shop. See how beef is prepared, displayed and sold to the general public in a small local town. Meet the butcher and discuss all aspects of quality and marketing of the product.
Visit one of the many World Famous heritage sites in the area.
Visit a modern meat processing plant. A full tour of the plant will take place and an in dept discussion with the management of the company will also ensue.
Visit the Teagasc research institute at Grange. Get updated on all the most recent research issues that influence European and irish beef production policy. A visit to ICBF(Irish Cattle Breeding Federation) bull performance test station in Tully, Kildare.
A visit to the factory of the world famous Keenan mixer wagons manufacturing facilities in Borris, Carlow.
Ireland has many family owned small scale feedlots. These are highly efficient and highly productive units. They produce high quality beef that is specific to many of our exports. Two of the most efficient units in the midlands area of Ireland will be visited. You will get an idea as to why Ireland is one of Europes leading beef exporting countries
Meet with key industry insiders.
Visit the Irish Farm Centre in Dublin and meet the dedicated people who are working for Irish farmers at home and in Europe. Discussions on Irish and European beef policy will allow for a better understanding of the sheep meat industry.
Before you depart, stay in Dublin, Ireland’s Capital City. Dublin is regarded as one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world yet it is steeped in history that stretches back over 1000 years.
There are many fantastic tours available. A typical Irish evening entertainment can be arrangement whereby you can sample the best of Irish food and fun. You could just relax and sample the Guinness in one of many famous pubs or the shopping before being escorted back to the airport or ferry for your return journey.
Tours can be custom built to suit your needs. They can be 100% technical and business oriented or they can have a mixture of business and culture. We can cater for groups of various sizes.
